Curtis Generous serves as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Vice President of Engineering at Earth Networks (previously known as Weatherbug).  As Earth Networks’ CTO, Curtis has responsibility for the overall leadership of Earth Networks’ enterprise technology initiatives including software and hardware development and information technology.  Curtis also heads the Research & Development department where Earth Network's scientists in Lightning and Atmospheric Sciences are performing research on improved ways of detecting lightning around the globe.   Earth Networks is a 100% multi-cloud based SaaS provider, which processes over 25 terra bytes of IoT data every single day from 10K+ weather stations and 1,800 lightning sensors located across 91 countries.

Curtis co-founded several Internet engineering firms and holds multiple US patents in high volume messaging technologies.  He is actively involved in several community service organizations, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Washington Area CTO Roundtable, a non-profit organization devoted to educating others on the creation and use of technology. Curtis received his undergraduate degree from California State University, graduate work in Electrical Engineer at Loyola, served in the United States Navy as a Reserve Officer, is an accomplished classical and jazz pianist, and a registered professional magician.
