Witness how data science is about to feed 300 million new people by fundamentally transforming agriculture. The self-driving tractor in fields today places millions of seeds at millimeter accuracy in three dimensions while running at 10 MPH. As a planter traverses the field we dynamically control every variable about seed placement, including spacing, depth, and down force. On precision sprayers we independently vary the amount of product sprayed by nozzle-section. At harvest, every grain moves through an array of onboard moisture and mass sensors to precisely measure yield as the combine advances. Data generated by a single farm operation is staggering. A massive tonnage of real-time target rate and actual measurement data is wirelessly streamed to the cloud through a mesh-network infrastructure. At this month’s CTO Roundtable see how a data science pipeline activates the world’s largest ‘internet of things’ telematics streams to fundamentally transform an industry. This isn’t exploratory data analytics. We’ll talk about how data science is weaponizing digital assets to create otherwise unreachably high yields, low costs, and new competitive footholds in adjacent marketplaces for ag companies.
The discussion will be led by:

Big Data and Cybersecurity are two of the hottest buzzwords in every enterprise. Leaders are demanding data-driven decisions and investing Billions to get there. However, few organizations are able to deliver Big Data solutions with adequate levels of Security. Ultimately, securing Big Data must occur or an enterprise will ultimately have to make a choice: Be risk averse and accept a significant business opportunity cost or carry an unacceptable level of Cybersecurity risk.
Matthew Carroll, CEO of Immtua, will lead the discussion. Matthew is the CEO for Immuta, a data company enabling data scientists to rapidly build highly secure and scalable algorithms. He has spent the better part of the past 10 years within the US Intelligence Community designing and developing secure, distributed systems for worldwide operations.
This conversation will focus on real-world use cases of successful strategies to secure Big Data environments. This talk will not focus on encryption models or defensive security strategies, aspects are widely covered in mainstream technology media. Data will be at the forefront of the conversation and we will focus on how engineering teams can implement security into large volume and/or high-velocity systems without necessarily depending on a single technology - the key to success in Cybersecurity.

For this, our tenth summit, the CTO Roundtable is bringing together thought leaders in a new field that is rapidly taking center stage for the country’s technologist and policy makers. Key leaders in the development and application of drones will provide their insights and peer under the covers of this exciting technology.
Drone Petting Station
We have added a "Drone Petting Station" to the 10th CTO Roundtable Summit!
As with other innovations in the last century, the drone technology did not grow from a single point. It took root in garages, on workbenches, and in the backyards of thousands, who tinkered, refined, played and coded for the love of the potential. It's one thing to read about and discuss, but quite another to go hands on with the potential that has been rapidly outpacing regulation.
A small team of local innovators from Gannett (Bill Frischling, Kevin Goff, Liam Oliver, and Rob Klause) will be onsite with their fleet of drones, some store bought, others built from scratch. You can watch them fly, see what makes them work, and learn from a group that has been discovering their potential for both work and fun through hundreds of hours of personal experience.
