Annual Washington Area CTO Summit

Annual Summit

Date: Thursday, May 16, 2013
Time: 4:00 PM – 7:30 PM
Topic: Way Beyond the Mouse – Innovation in Man Machine Interaction
How far we've come from punched cards! Interactions between computers and humans have become so natural and ingrained that we find our children using touchpad devices before they've mastered speech. But the frontier of human computer interaction is just that... still a frontier. The developments from both academia and industry promise revolutionary changes in the way we use smart machines. The CTO Roundtable is bringing together the leaders in human computer interaction technology for this year's Summit. The Summit has established a reputation for bringing you ideas and new technology way before it becomes mainstream. We believe this program is no exception. As in all previous Summits, the audience will consist of approximately 120 technology leaders from our area attending on an invitation basis. With this audience, Summit side discussions are the added highlight of the evening.

Featured Keynote Speakers Dr. Ben Shneiderman, our keynote speaker, is a founding director of the Human-Computer Interaction Laboratory, a member of the Institute for Advanced Computer Studies at the University of Maryland, College Park, and a member of the National Academy of Engineering.

He will be joined by Dan Simpkins, founder and CEO of Hillcrest Labs, a company which created what is now known as “Smart TV” and has developed the first motion-based TV remote control using inertial sensors.

As well as Mike Harper, COO of zSpace, a leading-edge technology provider that enables natural interaction with virtual-holographic 3D imagery.

Register: This is an invitation-only event limited to public and private sector CTOs and technology executives at a similar level in their organization. There is a small registration fee. To be added to the invitation list, please send a short CV and request to cto@chieftechnologyofficer.org
